If you've recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, I understand this may be an uncertain and anxious time. I'm Dr Shiroma De Silva-Minor, a consultant clinical oncologist - with over twenty-five years of experience treating breast cancers. I practise at GenesisCare in Oxford, and at the Cromwell Hospital in London. You'll notice that I'm using a digital version of myself in these videos. Every word you hear is my own; and while not every movement will look 100% natural - this technology allows me to share important information with you in multiple languages. Oncology is also a fast-evolving specialty, and this approach means I can update guidance quickly as the evidence changes. As a clinical oncologist, I'll oversee all the non-surgical aspects of your treatment, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy and hormone therapy. I also provide guidance on genetic testing, managing side effects and the lifestyle factors that can support your recovery and long-term health. I believe every patient deserves care tailored to their own circumstances; because treatment is never one-size-fits-all.
